Are You A LinkedIn All-Star?

One of the things I teach is to stop trying to be part of every single social network out there. Rather, pick a couple and learn to master them. The fact is, you’ll produce far better results from two social networks used properly than from trying to half-butt (my mom might read this blog!) your way through using five or six or ten!

It’s good news. It means you can breathe a sigh of relief knowing you don’t have to be everywhere!

One of the networks I do recommend is LinkedIn. After all, of all the available options, it’s one that’s designed for professionals and professional connections. If you want to grow your network, LinkedIn offers plenty of viable lead opportunities!

Are You A LinkedIn All-Star?

Did you know LinkedIn has a profile ranking system? There are five levels you can achieve: Beginner, Intermediate, Advanced, Expert and All-Star. If you click onto your profile, take a look over the right hand column. You’ll see your ranking there.

So why do you want to be an All-Star? Check out this fun fact courtesy of LinkedIn:

Users with complete profiles are 40 times more likely to receive opportunities through LinkedIn.

I don’t know about you, but if I can do something that’s going to get me 40 times more exposure – especially if the only requirement is a couple hours of my time and effort to get done – well… sign me up!

When’s the last time you looked over your LinkedIn profile? Do you know your current status level? Are there things you can be doing to elevate yourself to All-Star status?

Keys to All-Star Status

A few key areas you want to be pay attention to are your Headline, Summary, Experience, Connections and (though you may not want to hear it) your Profile Picture! I can already hear some of you, “But… but… but… we’re voice actors. We’re the faceless heroes who hide behind the scenes in the comforts of our booth. You can’t possibly expect me to post a photo of myself!”

Let me remind you… 40 TIMES! Post the pic!

If it’s been a while since you visited your profile, make one of your goals this week to give it a good going over and make sure everything is current!
