I posted the question on my Facebook page the other night.
“My dream client is___________. Finish the sentence.”
People shared their responses and it was great to see how so many people were dreaming big dreams. Some of the names that were shared included ESPN, The Discovery Channel, Disney and NFL Films.
Here’s thing about the question I asked. I wasn’t sure how to answer it for myself!
Do You Have A Dream?
I’m a really big fan of setting goals. It’s something I’ve written about a few times on this blog. I have daily goals, weekly goals, monthly goals and even yearly goals. I have a big spreadsheet of all the things I hope to do and accomplish in 2013. I keep it on my computer, iPad and iPhone and look at it several times a day for motivation and inspiration.
Yet, with all of that, I couldn’t answer my own question!
I know what kind of microphone I want to buy for my studio. I have the specs picked out for my new iMac when it’s time to replace my current one. I know how many auditions i want to submit. I know how much money I want to make. I’ve got all kinds of goals and dreams and plans in place for my voice over business.
I just didn’t know who my dream client was.
After I posted that question on Facebook and started reading the responses of others I decided it was time to follow my own lead. It was time to dream a little.
I figured it out.
I Have A Dream
One day, before I hang up my headphones, I want to do a voice over for Apple!
I’m a total Fan Boy. I’m not ashamed to admit it. I love everything they do. Not just the products and devices they make, but even their marketing! I never get tired of watching Apple commercials. It would be the thrill of a lifetime, and the ultimate reward for all my years of hard work, dedication and commitment to my craft to have my voice on something created by Apple.
I have a dream!
What about you?
