Want More Success In Voice Over? Help Others Succeed!

The general rule of competition is that there are winners and losers. Obviously, it’s better to be the winner. To get more sales. To have more clients. To make more money. To book more voice over work.

In order to win, that means others must lose.

At what expense?

Uniqueness Means We All Win

Reap What You SowOne of the things that makes voice over interesting is that, while we’re all technically competing against each other for jobs, particularly when 200 audition for the same gig at the Pay 2 Play, the fact of the matter is, we’re all unique.

My voice qualities are different than yours.

My tone is different from yours.

My read is different from yours.

Even though only one of us books the job, it doesn’t really mean everybody else lost. It just means one person matched the clients vision, the others didn’t. On the next job, someone else will match.

We’re all unique.

Why Do I Share?

There are some who think I’m nuts for writing a voice over blog and divulging all of my “secrets” to success. I guess I just don’t think like they do.

You are not going to book the jobs that I’m right for. I am not going to book the jobs that you’re right for. Further to that, the better we all become as voice actors, the more we learn and improve our businesses, the stronger the industry becomes as a whole!

Isn’t that good for everyone?

Further to that, the better we all become as voice actors, the more we learn and improve our businesses, the stronger the industry becomes as a whole!

Share To Succeed

Share To SucceedI am a big believer in the simple concept that if I want to succeed, I need to help others succeed.

A man reaps what he sows. Galatians 6:7

I’m not about to preach a sermon. Put your wallets away. I will not be passing the collection plate. I’m just sharing a little truth. You can do with it as you choose.

I want to reap success in my voice over career. So I sow seeds to help others succeed. Am I the greatest living expert on voice over? Heck no! Have I learned a few things along the way? You bet!

Sharing the lessons I’ve learned helps you avoid the same mistakes. Sharing some of the things that have brought me success will hopefully bring you success.

And so goes the circle.

The lesson is simple. If you want to succeed, spend a little time helping each other. Teach. Share. Advise. Invest.

Sow seeds of success in others. Reap a harvest of success for yourself.

QUESTION: Do you share your “trade secrets” or do you think it’s smarter to keep everything to yourself?
