When I audition for a job I always try to include two or three reads for the client consider. In any demo I submit, the first read is the read that I assume is what they want based on their instructions. The other reads are just options for them to consider. On more than one occasion I’ve been surprised by a client who has requested the third read (the one I least expect them to use) because it’s exactly what they’re looking for. Are they always right…?
