One Of The Best Things You Can Do For Your Confidence

I’ve learned a lot of lessons in my years as a voice talent. Many of which I share a few times a week on this blog. Of all the lessons I’ve learned, what I’m about to share is, perhaps, one of the most important.

Hearing No

Confidence-LevelI submit a lot of auditions that never go anywhere.

There are a lot of jobs I don’t book.

Many potential clients over the years have told me, “thanks, but no thanks.”

Sometimes people get upset with my blogs and advice.

On more than one occasion, I’ve longed for a mulligan.

One Of The Best Things You Can Do For Your Confidence

Here’s what I’ve learned from every, “no” I’ve received in my career.

You can’t change the past, no matter how hard you might try. Tweet This

Truly, it’s a futile endeavour. You can wish it, dream it, pray it and will it, but you’ll never undo that which has been undone.

If you want to build your confidence going forward, you’ve got to learn to let go!

Stop looking back. Stop focusing on the every, “no.” Most importantly, stop beating yourself up! Learn a lesson, if there is one to be learned, and then move forward. On to the next audition. The next gig. The next client.

When you learn to let go of the past and stop trying to change something that can’t be changed, you’ll stop being controlled by something you have no control over.

Your confidence will soar because you’ll stop feeling defeated. When your confidence is high, you’ll watch your success level follow!
