One thing that can make my job easier as a Voice Talent is when a client gives good direction. There are a few different ways they can do that. A good explanation is always helpful. As example is even better.
Today I received an audition opportunity and the client knew exactly what they wanted.
They shared a video. And although they didn’t want to replicate the voice, they wanted to get a similar feel. I clicked the link they posted and for the next 90 seconds I enjoyed a brilliant voice-over.
Every so often I’ll watch a commercial or a video and just be inspired.
That commercial was one of them.
It’s often said that if you want to become a better writer then you need to read more. If that’s true (and I believe it is) then it stands to reason that if you want to be a better Voice Artist you should listen more.
